Jay Johns

Jay Johns is a Sydney-based Performer, Choreographer and Teacher, who graduated in 2012 from Ed5 International with a Diploma of Performing Arts under the guidance of William A Forsythe. Shortly after graduating, Jay was lucky enough to compete in So You Think You Can Dance Australia: Series 4, making it to the Top 4 Final. Jay then went on to tour with artist G.E.M on her XXX World Tour, and has since performed with Opera Australia as a Dancer, Actor and Physical Performer for a number of Operas, including Turandot and Carmen: Opera on the Harbour for HOSH.

Jay has enjoyed performing for artists such as Robbie Williams, Samantha Jade, Jessie J, Wes Carr, Wolf Mother, Foo Fighters and MIKA. He also loves sharing his Musical Theatre talents seen in Birdie Production’s in Hot Shoe Shuffle as Slap and recently with Bonnie Lythgoe Productions in The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell as the Pirate Himm. Jay has recently arrived back from Paris Disneyland where he performed in Mickey’s Christmas Big Band, choreographed by Chris Horsley.

Jay’s television credits include roles in Love Child, Tough Nuts, Behind Mansion Walls and TVCs for KFC, Telstra, Powerball and North Sydney Council. His film credits include the Bollywood feature film Dhoom 3 shot in India.

As a choreographer, Jay has worked with Birdie Productions on the 2017 production of “FAME” and the 2016 production of “Seussical the Musical”, and performed his own choreography as the support act for Kylie Minogue in Hong Kong. In 2016, Jay, along with his partner Emma, established JEM Entertainment. JEM has since produced a number of Shows and provided Entertainment for various events.

Jay owes his success to not only his family and friends, but also everyone who has supported him on his journey.
